I’ve been promising you a whole lot of gorgeousness from all the weddings I second shot last summer with Jacilyn M Photographer, but life’s been a little crazy lately and I kept putting blogging on the back burner. In the last four weeks alone we’ve bought a house, moved into our new home, road tripped to buy a car, and we added a new four-legged pup to our family! Things have been a little hectic to say the least, but I think we’re finally getting settled into our new routine. So I decided it was time to finally share some of last summer’s weddings with you; and I’m so excited to finally share Matt & Schenaye’s Big Sky wedding!
These two. This place. Their wedding. Seriously - it’s hard to find words to describe it. They flew to Montana from Alabama for their big day, a trip they’ve made often. They come up here whenever they can to fish, and this time they brought their whole family along. Matt & Schenaye grew up together, and they spent 16 years dating before this day finally arrived. Their day was laid back and packed with fun! They spent the morning relaxing and getting ready in a gorgeous cabin, followed by a first look and family photos with the Spanish Peaks as their backdrop. Then they said their “I Do’s” at Soldier’s Chapel, and headed to a local restaurant for food, drinks, horseshoes, and a whole lot of fun!
During their reception they snuck down to the river to exchange gifts. Matt was overly excited to open a new fishing rod, and Schenaye was blown away by the gorgeous ring Matt had made for her!
They also took a break during their reception to give gifts to their bridesmaids & groomsmen (AKA, all the important kiddos in their life!). It was adorable to say the least; these two are all about family and their day was so incredibly special because of it!
Since Matt & Schenaye wanted to spend their wedding day focusing on enjoying time with their family, they decided to do a day after session for their own wedding portraits! So Jackie and I met up with them again the day after their wedding and we spent all day running around the mountains together. I’m pretty sure day after sessions might be my favorite thing ever!
To finish off our day of adventure, we drove through Ted Turner’s Flying D Ranch to one of Matt & Schenaye’s favorite fishing spots. Clearly, the bison were out in full force to make the perfect backdrop for Montana wedding photos!
And last but certainly not least, one of my favorite things about second shooting with Jackie: capturing all her ridiculous behind the scenes shenanigans! I’m so ridiculously thankful that she asked me to second shoot with her so much in 2014
