I’ve spent hours trying to decide what to say about this wedding. But where do you even start when you’ve known the groom since the day you were born? Our moms have been best friends since they were in third grade, so it was only natural that Jenson was one of my first best friends as well. Growing up, our families did everything together: from summer BBQ’s and camping trips at the lake, to a crazy week in Vegas when we got a bit older. Some of the best memories I have growing up were spent with the Sannon family, they were just part of the crazy extended family!
And then along came Marcie. They dated for 7 years, and throughout that time I got the chance to meet Marcie a handful of times. I got to witness Jenson’s mom light up telling my mom all about the girl her son had fallen in love with. She was beautiful, funny, and completely perfect for Jenson. I finally got the chance to spend some time with both of them when I took their engagement photos a few winters ago. We ran around the snow capped mountains, and I’m pretty sure we didn’t stop laughing the entire time. There was no question about it - they were two peas in a pod.
Their wedding day was jam packed with love and laughter. They planned the most perfect, elegant, and laid-back day; and everyone had a blast. During their ceremony they celebrated their grandparents marriages, and I’ll never forget how amazing it was that one of their grandparents decided to count the number of days they’d been married, instead of the years. 23,239 days. You don’t need to do the math to know that it equals a whole lot of love! And how special of a reminder is that to cherish each day with the one you love. Ahhh, just melt my heart. And then came their vows… and I promise you there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. They made each other laugh, they made each other cry, and they promised to spend the rest of their lives loving each other. It was such an amazing thing to witness. Marcie had so many do-it-yourself details that completely stunned everyone. She was so thoughtful in every detail of wedding planning, and it definitely paid off! It was around 100 degrees on their wedding day, and their reception hall had no air conditioning. But those two kept that room packed all night anyways! Everyone danced the night away, drank from bottles, got a little crazy, and had a night to remember celebrating the love between Marcie and Jenson.
I’ve been to a lot of weddings, but this one will always be one of my favorites. Plus, it’s not often that Brandon and I get to put down our cameras, grab a drink, and dance the night away with the bride and groom [wink] Marcie and Jenson, thank you for letting me be a part of your big day! I love you both to pieces, and am soooo damn happy that you’re finally married! CHEERS!
