Maggie eased into the day, calm and collected. She had a smile across her face throughout her hair and makeup appointment, but there was a noticeable excitement surrounding her. This was the day she got to marry her best friend. And oh, what a beautiful and perfect day it was!
After Maggie finished her hair and makeup we all headed back to the Billings Depot, where she met her bridesmaids to put on the finishing touches. The girls blared music and danced while they all got ready, including Beyonce’s Single Ladies while Maggie slipped into her gorgeous dress, laughing in between their sweet dance moves.
And that’s when it all hit; my own rush of nostalgia. Three years, one month, and one day prior to that moment, I was standing in that exact same room, surrounded by my own bridesmaids wearing purple dresses, getting ready to marry the man of my dreams. We hadn’t been back inside the Billings Depot since our own wedding, so we were beyond excited when we found out that two of our 2016 brides would be tying the knot at the same place we did. We might be biased, but we think they both chose the best venue in Billings! ;) Although, we sure wish that Better 2 Gather Events was around when we got married, because they made the Depot look STUNNING!!!
Once all the ladies were ready we made our way to the church for the ceremony. The most stunning church, might we add. It was completely breathtaking watching Maggie walk down the aisle, surrounded by beautiful stained-glass windows.
And then came our very favorite part of their day. The part that assured us that YES, we really do have the most awesome clients in the world! After the ceremony was over, the entire bridal party and some friends departed the church on the Tipsy Trolley. They popped champagne, cracked open the beer, and celebrated the newlyweds as the trolley made its way around Billings. The end destination was the reception back at the Billings Depot, but first they had to make a pit stop at Thirsty Street Brewing, of course!
Once they arrived at the reception the party really got started! Maggie’s sister and Travis’ brother gave the best toasts, recalling how their families knew each other before Maggie and Travis met, and how they first came to realize that Maggie and Travis had begun dating. The dance floor was packed all night long, and this crew knew how to have a good time! Seeing the bridesmaids reaction when Single Ladies came on for the bouquet toss was also a favorite. After the bouquet was thrown they continued to dance like crazy until the song was over. We’ve never seen so much laughter on a dance floor before, and we loved watching everyone celebrate alongside the new Mr & Mrs! It was such a joy to witness the love between Maggie and Travis on their wedding day, but even more so than that was getting to see the way that their friends and family poured love over them too.
Maggie and Travis, you two are the best and we are so thankful we got to celebrate with you! CHEERS to the next adventure, and we hope your honeymoon in Glacier National Park is nothing short of amazing!
