For over a year, one of Brittney's co-worker insisted on setting her up on a blind date with her brother. But as most people do when someone wants to set them up on a blind date, Brittney politely declined. It's a good thing her friend/co-worker was persistent, though, because when Brittney finally agreed to go out on a group date with this mystery man she ended up meeting her perfect man!  Fast forward to this past Christmas and Brittney arrived home to find Jeremy on their couch, snuggled under a blanket. What she didn't know was that under that blanket was a tiny little puppy... AND a sparkly ring!! That's right, Jeremy not only proposed with a ring, he threw a puppy in the mix for good measure. Officially winning the proposal game for all time! Take note, gentleman!  We had such a blast with these two for their session! It was…

There's something special about young love. About falling head over heels, while you're still figuring out what that means. It's one thing to fall in love with someone as they are, it's another thing to fall in love with someone and stay in love through the changing seasons of life. To grow together, and to grow closer in the process.  Haylee & Jordy met in pre-school, and while they attended different elementary schools, when they both ended up in the same middle school it wasn't long before they were officially an item. When we asked them how they started dating so many years ago, Jordy laughed and said he probably passed her a note or something, because you know... 7th grade and all! Knowing somebody for so long, literally growing up side-by-side, growing closer, and falling more in love with each passing year, that's the kind of love that is built…

Do you ever make a mental assessment of your life and note all the things that could be better, bigger, prettier, newer? Maybe you wish you could just get a new car, finally. Maybe you wish you had a Pinterest-worthy kitchen. Maybe you look in the mirror and wish YOU could be better, prettier. Have you ever done this?? Because I have. A lot. I remember the day we closed on our condo, at the ages of 23 and 25, we got the keys to a home that was officially ours. And while we popped the champagne and celebrated, I vividly remember walking around and thinking, “This will do, for now.” I took note of all the things that weren't perfect: the yard was small, it was only a one car garage, the master bedroom didn’t have a walk-in closet, the kitchen was dark wood instead of all white, the…

One of the biggest choices couples have to make for their wedding day is whether or not to see each other before the ceremony. And the debate can get heated!!!  It's tradition not to see each other before you walk down the aisle, but do you actually know WHY that is?? I'll just share this explanation from Bridal Guide:   "During the time when arranged marriages were custom, the betrothed couple wasn’t allowed to see each other before the wedding at all. The wedding symbolized a business deal between two families (romantic, huh?), and a father would have been pleased for his daughter to marry a man from a rich, land-owning family. But he also feared that if the groom met the bride before the wedding and thought she wasn’t attractive, he’d call off the wedding, casting shame onto the bride and her family. Therefore, it became tradition that the bride and…

Last fall Tasha commented on one of my Instagram posts about a new engagement session on the blog, and she stated that she wanted to be on our blog one day, so obviously we had to make it happen! You see, Tasha isn't just dating any guy... she's dating Brandon's little brother, Jaden. When I first met Brandon, Jaden was just a middle schooler who loved to steal all of Brandon's clothes and argue with him any chance he got - like most little brother's do! But over the last 8 years we've watched Jaden grow up, graduate high school, excel in college, and chase something he's passionate about. And we also go to watch him fall in love with Tasha, and as quickly as she stole his heart, she stole the rest of ours too. She's part of the family, and we tell Jaden regularly that he better hold onto…
